Accommodations - Laughing Heart Lodge

Your energizing weekend getaway begins in the heart of Hot Spring, North Carolina. The sweet little town of Hot Springs is known for its Mineral baths and rustic charm that instantly make you feel at home. As you step into the lodge, filled with history and charm, you’ll find yourself in a safe haven and comfort zone that you won’t want to leave.

The Laughing Heart Lodge welcomes you as you enter the foyer with a large gathering area off of each side.  Each of these large rooms has a massive stone fireplace each with gas logs, original heart of pine floors and wainscot walls, and large bay windows with window seats.  There is a large dining room that will seat up to 24 guests.  The Lodge has 10 guest rooms – 5 upstairs and 5 downstairs.  Seven of the rooms have private bathrooms while the other three share a bathroom.

The property on which the Laughing Heart Lodge now stands was originally owned by Col. Rumbough, who built the house around 1890. In 2021, Laughing Heart was purchased by Gabe and Maria Osiier.  Coming from the Washington, D.C. area, they realized a long-time dream of owning a lodge and hiker hostel to get closer to the outdoors.

Explore Historic Hot Springs

Imagine after an invigorating and challenging Kaiut yoga session with Tucker, dipping your body into a warm tub full of natural healing mineral water? Soaking up the warm goodness with a view of the French Broad River and Spring Creek.  Can you say, ahhhhh?

Hot Springs is one of Mother Nature’s wonders. Heated deep within the earth, these crystal clear waters are world famous for their mineral content and legendary healing powers. Hot Springs pipes these waters into modern jetted hot tubs that are drained and sanitized after each use.

Hot Springs Is A Tantalizing Destination for Meaningful Events.

Hot springs has a long history. Used by First Nation inhabitants, the geothermal mineral waters…are pure and the French Broad River is majestic.  The people in town are friendly. Taking a hike on the Appalachian Trail brings another nod to past innovators who held their determined mission to preserve and protect our country’s beautiful wildernesses.
